MUM is spearheaded by Los Angeles based composer, artist, & pop culture geek, David Hakopyan. After being signed, as an artist, to Dreamworks Records in 2001, David worked in some of the most notable recording studios in the world, NRG, East West, Westlake & Quad in New York City… Along side, such producers & engineers as, Alan Moulder (NIN, Smashing Pumpkins), Rich Costey (Muse, Mars Volta), Sylvia Massy (Johnny Cash, Tool, RHCP) & Don Gilmore (Linkin Park, Duran Duran) to name a few… 

In 2007, he ventured into the world of film and commercial scoring, winning a BAVC Media Award and Best Documentary Film at the ARPA International Film Festival for “People’s Advocate the Movie”, an independently produced biopic about iconic civil rights attorney, Charles R. Garry, David’s duties included Music Supervision, Score, and Sound Mix. Following this experience was a simple request to write a cue for an EA Sports Web Spot, leading to a domino effect of projects bringing us to this paragraph today… David has gone on to score commercials for international telecomms, Zain (Dubai) & Beeline (Russia), to working w/ national campaigns for Prius, Mazda, McDonalds, & Boeing.

With MuteUnMute, David not only has a personal hand in every project, but brings together a community of exceptionally talented Musicians & Sound Designers, taking pride in every little wham! boom! bam! they create for Commercials, Films, Television, and Video Games.
